4 more days
We had to go see a Perinatologist today. The hospital has this new rule that nobody can be induced before 39 weeks, so my doctor needed a back-up opinion. Long story short, we are all set for Tuesday delivery (38 weeks).
At the Perinatologist, we got another ultrasound, which was great - because they got this great face shot of Baby Harris. Reilly was there with us and really enjoyed seeing the baby and hearing the heartbeat (and climbing on the bed, breaking the blinds, screaming, typical things that happen when a two year old is sitting in a doctor's office for 2 hours when she should be napping ;-)).
According to the ultrasound tech, the baby is weighing in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces...so if that is right, we'll be over 9 pounds on Tuesday (ouch!). Reilly was born at 37.5 weeks, the day before she was born the tech said she weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and sure enough - she weighed in at 8 pounds, 4 ounces.
(No comments about how chubby the cheeks look ;-) We are hoping that is just from being squished against the uterus.
So, you'll be hearing from us in 4 days with news of the arrival.

37 Weeks
We are 37 weeks in the morning. Our countdown clock says 8 days. It is getting very real that we will bring home baby soon. Its amazing though how you just don't have the time to think about it as much as you do when you have no kids at home.
I'm excited, but also concerned about how Reilly will do. Some days I think she will do great, other days, I wonder. I'm getting more and more tired and ready to hold this baby in my arms instead of my tummy. Wish me luck this week!

36 weeks - aka - HOME STRETCH
Heartburn, worry, fear, excitement...and 14 days til induction!
We did our NST a day early this week because Catriona was concerned about movement this morning. We went in and everything was fine - but always good to just get double-checked.
She ate too much at Rosh Hashanah dinner last night which led to a night and morning of heartburn...but lets hope that clears up soon with all the other wonderful ailments. She's ready to deliver this healthy, screaming baby! ;-)

35 Weeks
We just got back from our 35 week NST, and things look good. Baby passed quickly - unlike last week when s/he was overly active. This week s/he was just enough active.
Catriona was still having contractions yesterday so the doctor doubled her medication and since then she is doing well.
Until next week...

34 Weeks
We've been doing well this week. The contractions have stopped since we went on medication.
We had our NST today and baby passed with flying colors. In fact, s/he was so active that we had to stay hooked up until s/he calmed down so they could get a heartbeat without him/her moving so much. Does active baby in the womb mean active crazy toddler? ;-)
We go back to the OB tomorrow, stay tuned.

Two Fun Filled Days in a Row
Today we went in for our weekly NST...typically a 30-60 minute test. Turns out I was having pretty good contractions. I had been feeling them for a few days but thought they were nothing more than Braxton Hicks. I was wrong.
They gave me a shot to stop the contractions. It slowed them, but didn't stop them...so they gave me another. Finally - 4 hours later the contractions had stopped and we were able to go.
They said if I was two weeks further along they wouldn't stop labor, but we are just too early right now. They did check me though and I was only dialted 1. I'm supposed to call if I have more than 5 in an hour. I've had a couple tonight, but not 5.

33 Weeks
33 weeks - max of 6 weeks to go -thank goodness!!
Things are going very well. We now go in for weekly NSTs (non-stress tests). The first one went very well and baby "passed" with flying colors. We go in for our second one tomorrow.
I've finally reached that emotional stage that I have known would come. I sorta lost it today. I took Reilly to the ENT based on recommendation for her pediatrician and we have decided to move forward with having tubes put in her ears. The thought of having my baby girl go under for surgery is just heart-breaking and too much for me to take emotionally at 8 months pregnant!! Thank goodness for Daddy!!
I ended up taking most of the day off for "mental health"
pffffff

We went in for our ultrasound today, so far things are looking great. Unfortunetly the machine was broken so we didn't get to take pictures home with us, but they are going to send them to us. We'll get them posted as soon as we have them!

16 weeks
We went in for our appt today - Baby Harris had a nice, strong heartbeat of 144! Hmmm...boy or girl?? Some people say the lower heartbeats are for boys....who knows.
We go in for our ultrasound in 3 weeks, then back to the doc in 4.
